The Guardian looks like a bit of a Top Gun action flick

I think Ashton Kutcher is a knob and strangely enough, this film is pretty crap.  Costner is lucky his acting is still as wooden as ever as it no doubt kept him afloat for the long spells he spent in the water.  Wait for the DVD so you can shout at the TV in the comfort of your own home!

Don't get me started about "the Departed"............

The Quicktime movie trailers section on apple.com is very good for all the previews.

Saw Sixty Six last night. Better than I expected, a funny feel-good
flick.

The Prestige is coming out this weekend, saw it a while back - excellent, twisty story of the kind Christopher Nolan loves to make (he did Memento). Fine performances (Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Michael Caine, and the godlike David Bowie).

Ending is a little  but well worth a look. Fascinating to see a film about the era when superstition really started giving way to science; and Nikola Tesla is worth a film all of his own. Not to mention it's nice to see someone finally telling the truth about that vicious gangster Edison (who despite being canonised by American society was nothing but a mobbed-up legbreaker who drove competitors with better technology out of business).

Saw Little Children last night.  Real Oscar-bait, some fine performances and black comedy as well as the best attempt I've seen onscreen to look at some of the hysteria around child abuse scandals.

Went to see Saw III last weekend.

I had seen the previous two and was a fan of them.

This one was more gruesome and was brilliant.

GAME OVER!!

Got the Da Vinci Code out tonight, if you liked the book it's probably worth a look but if you didn't I wouldn't bother.

What I'm trying to figure out is why I watched it, oh right, Audrey Tatou. Yum.

My productive day today, which also included a trip to KFC for unhealthy amounts of 'chicken', involved me watching 3 different films. They were, in the following order:

Ong Bak - I haven't been so disappointed by a film in a while. Sure the fight scenes were exceptional but the film was laughably bad. Still, if you haven't seen it, I'd recommend it just for fighting. No stunt doubles, no wires, no plot.

Batman Begins - A modern day classic, possibly the greatest comic book adaptation of all time despite the inclusion of that two-legged field mouse Katie Holmes. If you haven't seen it punch yourself in the crotch once an hour from now until you do.

Fantastic 4 - eh...surprisingly funny actually, combine that with the Jessica Alba factor (she gets down to her skimpies), this is a watchable film. Not one I'd rush out to rent but if it's on TV and you feel like switching off for an hour and a half then definitely worth a look.

I loved Batman Begins.
But there were two things wrong with it:
1. Katie Holmes
2. Alfred should not have a cockney accent.

Saw The Departed last night - very dissappointing. The ending is rubbish - I mean how many red herrings can you have - I draw the line at a whole film full of them!! the plot is good - complicated and intricate, keeps you on your toes and the tension is well maintained but overall not a good movie

was a bit disappointed with the departed myself, not a bad movie and worth seeing for the cast and acting (although id say if you were from Boston some of the accents would drive you mad)

Agree. The Irish accents were dodgy enough too. The only thing I'll say in its favour is that its a really long movie and I never felt the time pass. But overall disappointing.
