From the IRSC website

We will have an announcement in December about tickets for the RBS 6 Nations 2007 games against France and England.

seems there may be a possibility of tickets for all members rather than a lottery</font>

How many members in the IRSC? With a notice like this they will have 80K by the end of the week smileys/lol.gif

That notice has been on the site for weeks.

As far as tickets for international matches go IRSC members are very near the bottom of the pecking order.

Unless they are members that renewed their membership after joining in the first year. Those members are guaranteed tickets.

That is not correct.

Only those who joined in the first 2 or 3 months and who renewed are guaranteed tickets.

Out of the extra seats that became available through the move to Croke Park the IRFU committed a measley 600 or so tickets to this initiative.

Where did you get that figure from?

glorob
5th-December-2006, 09:59
I believe the figure was mentioned in a thread on the Irish Rugby forum. At a guess I would say it was last September this happened when a discussion was taking place about members renewing not getting a ticket guarantee for Ireland France similar to that given to members who had renewed in April/May.

Membership of the IRFU Supporters Club was very low until about Auguct 2005 when the majority of those who became members in the first year joined. The increase in membership at that stage came about as people were able to join andto buy tickets for the 2005 Autumn Internationals.

5th-December-2006, 12:16
By the way, did anyone else get an IRSC membership "pack" this year? I don't recall what, if anything, was meant to be in it, but I was a little surprised to get an envelope with a memership card loose inside it; that's it. Not even a letter saying thanks for renewing. Looks like a quality outfit alright..smileys/c&#111;nfused.gif

I was just looking at the prices they are charging on these tickets

Premium - €110;
Stand - €80;
Terrace - €30;
Schoolboy/girls - €10

€80 for a seat is pretty steep especially if you get stranded in the corner, they are terrible seats or even the canal end. And if i remember correctly it was only €25 for a terrace ticket this year unless you were in the east for the superior view.

I know they have to pay rent on the ground but in all fairness i think that this is being a bit steep across all levels, just because they know how much of a demand will be there for these

Snamh
12th-December-2006, 14:18
Am in the 1300's of membership numbers myself...not optimistic about getting a ticket, but as they are only distributing just a single ticket to each member then I don't think its beyond the realms of possibility that they will have about a 1000 tickets to distribute smileys/lol.gif

RobbieG

West Uppers for the Aus game were €75 a pop for the Autumns

Was €30 for North terrace last year for the Wales game, IIRC.

@@@@SPAN>Hi mod,

No doubt all will be made clear when the email arrives but am I
right in saying that tickets for both games will be on sale to
supporters club members but each member will only be entitled to buy
two tickets to one of the games. Or is it the case that only tickets
for one match will be put on sale?

Cheers.

Mod:

@@@@SPAN style="font-weight: bold;">There will be tickets for both games but you will only be allowed

purchase.

@@@@/SPAN>@@@@SPAN>last question i promise !

going to be on sale . Once again , Thabks . Moorboy
-------------

Mod:

There will be two sales:

1) The Renewal Ticket for those already contacted

2) General Sale open to all members. @@@@SPAN style="font-weight: bold;">Two tickets per purchase@@@@/SPAN> and
only for one of the games - fairest way to give as many people as
possible a chance. NOt everyone will get through or get a ticket.

@@@@/SPAN>@@@@SPAN ="disclaimer">Mod:

The Online sale for all members will be first come, first served,
those who get through will, as before, be limited to purchasing two
tickets and yes it will be limited to one game. Before anyone starts
shouting that is the fairest way to ensure as many members as possible
get to at least one game. Before anyone starts shouting about capacity
- yes it is bigger, so is this allocation compared to last year for
Scotland and Wales but so also is the allocation to Rugby CLubs and all
other stakeholders.@@@@/SPAN>

who?
14th-December-2006, 12:19
Still not sure why they offer two per member rather than 1; but at least it means those that win have the opportunity to swap one ticket for a ticket to the other game.

I wonder what the ratio of tickets -&gt; members is.
