Now that we are through the pools, . Who do you think we should play in the quartars. I'd fancy London Irish in the Madjeski.

Any Thoughts?http://www.munsterfans.com/forum/smileys/cool.gif

Could we get Toulouse?

Can't get London Irish or Sarries as far as I make tell as they will be the top two seeds and meet one of the runners up. We will be either the 5th or 6th seed.

Depending on results it will very likely be either Cardiff, Gloucester or Toulouse. My preference would be in that order too.

Yeah, i think it has to be one of those 3. I'd share your order of preference. Unfortunately, it's most likely going to be Toulouse. smileys/confused.gif

Munster never do things the easy way!

If Cardiff beat Bristol tomorrow we will probably be playing London Irish in the Quarter Final if they do not beat Bristol we will probably be playing Toulouse in Toulouse

I know as well as anybody know that we would prefer London Irish in Reading than Toulouse in Toulouse

Your thoughts

I agree. London Irish have hardly been challenged and look very average.

Really dont see how we can get sarries. Also cardiff is very very unlikely as that involves both gloucester losing to Ulster by more than 7 at home and Ospreys losing away AND cardiff winning away with a bonus point on a mudcake against a pumped bristol. Whats more likely is glos getting 6 tries, pushing irish down to 3rd and then cardiff do the business and were going to reading. If neither of those happen then its gloucester or toulouse away, with my money on toulouse

Why would be screwed against Gloucester? We can't play Biarritz who won't even qualify.

Agree with kosu. Glous are beatable and Biarritz are out. One thing
about Toulouse is that we can beat them and goodness knows the
ladyboys would never let us forget ifwe don't.

bizarre system where the weaker pools have 2 teams...and then a group like Munster's get a the PRIZE of away games to either Gloucester or Touluose!!

in any case i would take Toulose over Gloucester
Toulose wont like munsters style of play....Gloucester can handle it better...

in any case..if POC is back ...Munster really can do go all the way...
but he will also have to show he is worthy of taking MOD's spot......( not heresy..simply maximum respect to both of them)

( ps didnt appreciate Leicesters antics of trying to take out 2 or 3 Irish players just before the 6N)

As things stand there isn't a hope POC would get into the team. The two lads were the best players Munster had yesterday.Deccie has to stick with Micko and DOC with POC on the bench.

I disagree there, yes Toulouse weren't up for it against Leinster, but at home they are great and Gloucester really aren't that good, against LI, Bath and Ospreys they have been murdered up front.

Gloucester have a fairly crappy tight five (especially given the number of internationals) and they have 2 good 7s, but only very average 6s and 8s. Yes their backs are dangerous, but they only look good when poor ball is kicked to them and/or they get turnovers, which are primarily due to poor play of other teams.

Toulouse on the other hand have a better pack and a much better back-row, while their backline is better able to create.

Thing is that Glaws know that if they get 7 tries against Ulster in
Kingsholm today that they will be second seeds and play against USAP,
or dont score seven and run the risk of playing against us, toulouse,
Stade, Cardiff or Bristol. Personally I think they will give it
everything to muller ulster

I agree with darkshark.

I'd prefer to play Toulouse sooner rather than later.

Last year, v Llanelli, Munster just weren't right going into the game. Had it been a side with a bigger reputation they might have been a bit more focussed.

Toulouse away will focus the team mightily, Munster have the power and the pace to beat them and will probably have to play them at some point anyway. Bring it on!

(Though obviously I wouldn't be saying this if I was on the team and actually had to @@@@SPAN style="font-style: italic;">play@@@@/SPAN> Toulouse smileys/lol.gif)

PS London Irish play at the Reading FC ground, which is called the Madejski Stadium (pronounced Mad-AY-skee) named after the owner and chairman of the the club John Madejski. Don't let a Reading cabbie hear you say maJESki
It is not majeski or madjeski or magiscky

Ok, it's pretty obvious who we want to avoid, Toulouse. How stingy would that be if with all our hard work to come out on top of our pool and get Toulouse away in France in April, which would more then likely mean in the heat and after the 6 Nations which would also possibly mean *touch wood* injuries.

But it would focus the minds no doubt. But no that would be really hard on the Munster lads. But then again no one in their right minds wants to draw Munster either.

Glaws is a horrible draw. Sh*t ground, sh*t town & they owe us a hiding. Would have loved to go to Toulouse again. Would focus the mind. Do or die games against top opposition suit us.
