Can anyone recommend a good dog breeder in Cork?

what breed of dog required? Got my Great Dane from a good breeder. He also breeds scots terriers, etc

as much as i would like a big dog i dont have a big enough home/Garden to keep happy in during the day. Had wanted a Goldendoodle but I hear they are hard to come by and expensive so considering a King Charles at the moment


something playful, not too hyper and good temprement either way

Sorry, the guy I went seems to deal in pretty large dogs (and scotties for some reason) Not really aware of any other breeders.....sorry!

We got a Cocker Spaniel a few months ago. Beautiful dog will end up
about 15kg, a bit bigger than a King Charles.
They are very intelligent dogs and have a nice temprament.

We have had to leave the dog alone now and then due to work etc.
You're better off getting the dog used to being alone as soon as
possible. Leave him alone for minutes at a time and work your way up.

If you are getting a dog I would advise you to get the book 'It’s me or
the dog' by Victoria Stillwell. She has a program on Channel 4. Brilliant
for training and understanding your dog.

in terms of being left alone i'm concerned particularly with the age. I mean if you buy a puppy a few weeks old can they be left alone? I wouldnt have thought so but maybe different breeds are different as i saw a King Charles puppy once who was tiny but other puppys seem more aware after a couple of weeks


ive read about leaving them for 10 minutes, 20 minutes , an hour etc to build them up to it, basically should you take a week or 2 off work and put some time in until they are old enough?

Do not get a puppy a few weeks old. They should be at least8 weeks and ensure that they have got all their vaxinations.


Have a golden retriever at the moment, great with kids and easy to train. Used to have spanials when a kid they went through a bad patch re temperment due to over breeding but that seems to have bee rectefied.


Get the puppy used to being alone as soon as possible otherwise it will drive you and more imprtantly your neighbours demented with yapping.
