No.

1. If someone has the actual fixtures before they are officially announced, they are not to be posted on this site. If they wish, they can pass them onto the mods who can pm them to anyone who requests them, or they can do that themselves.

2. However,IF someone puts out incorrect fixtures, they will be liable to a permanent ban from the site.

Why can't munsterfans comission a Rumour and Gossip section for such an eventuality?

Because some peoplemight book flights on the strength of those rumours (IIRC someone did so in previous seasons), and that's not right nor fair. If someone pms the fixtures to the mods, we will endeavour to verify them before passing them on by pm (NO GUARANTEES !!!).

good point, point! Worth the wait to get dates etc confirmed before booking. Hotels are fine bu it's the flights where the problems arise if you need to change or cancel.

What's not right or not fair? Some ape booking flights on the strength of what they read on a forum before the fixtures were officially released? For Christ's sake.

If people take this as gospel then they deserve to be stung.

Is someone going to sue Munsterfans?

It is ridiculous behaviour to threaten to ban someone for this.

and if a poor journalist takes someone on here at their word of George Smith signing as a done deal then thats not fair either.

I would expect both the poster who booked flights and any journalist as set out in the example above to do their own research and if they choose to make a decision based on an internet forum they have only themselves to blame.

This stuff about banning for one thing and not the other is total horses**t.

Totally different senario's othp.

In one caseposting dates from thin airon when games will be played could perhaps cost someone money if they book on the bases of that info.

Saying player x may or is signing costs nobody money and can also be a way of 'flushing' valid information out into the open on who might reallybe in talks with Munster rugby.

if someone is stupid enough to either book flights, print information as fact, or even get a name on the back of their shirt or something else based only on the back of a post here they really shouldn't be allowed out on their own.

The fact the gestapo on here threaten to ban people for posting false info for one and maintain its perfectly fine for other facts is now and always will be utter horses**t.

Wouldn't we all be far better off focusing on the Magners League next season because, let's face it, we haven't a hope in hell of winning the Heineken Cup with McGahan at the helm.In fact, none of theIrish provinces has. The days of wine and roses are over for Irish rugby.

Sorry for noticing your slightly negative undertone.

We're awaiting these fixtures in order to support Munster at home and abroad. But if I understand your correctly we should stop attending Munster HCup Fixtures completely and stop supporting Munster HCup Fixtures? I'm sure the lads would really appreciate that!!!

Or even better we could withdraw completely from the HCup.

Well, to quote President John F Kennedy in Berlin back n 1963 - Ich bin ein Berliner.

Can't someone walk in to their office in Dublin and demand some dates? (If needed by using violence.) Not sure where they are seated in Dublin but expect in the same building as IRB.

By Hyères-Toulon Airport in low cost is the shortest (15 minutes in Motorway from Hyères to Toulon) : http://www.toulon-hyeres.aeroport.fr/en/site_aeroport
There is shuttle busses from airport to Toulon : http://www.toulon-hyeres.aeroport.fr/en/content/view/full/70 4
airport to Boulevard de Strasbourg - but you'll have to walk 10-15 minutes to join the stadium. Look for informations I don't know if it rolls on week-ends... smileys/redface.gif

Hyères (http://www.ville-hyeres.fr/version_anglaise/english.html)and neighborhood (http://www.lelavandou.eu/ukindex.htm)villages are also beautiful with great beaches and some pretty ports to visit (Le Lavandou, Carqueiranne, Le Pradet)

By Marseille Airport (70 Kms from Toulon by motorway) : http://www.mrsairport.com/eng/index.jsp

By Nice Airport (150 kms by motorway) the longest : http://www.nice.aeroport.fr/?l=2

Other infos and geolocalisation : http://www.rctoulon.com/en/page/billetterie_acces/

Anyway, you have to be at the stadium at least 1 hour before the game, or you'll hardly found any car park.

Le calendrier des oppositions de la H Cup est enfin connu. Toulon
commencera son épopée à domicile face à l'équipe galloise des

province irlandaise du Munster, championne d'Europe 2008, et

Remember, though, that what made the Perpignan game special was that it was the exception to the rule. Yeah, we beat them off the park and completely silenced the fans, but that hadn't happened all that often...

No chance.
Velodrome is Olympique de Marseille home as a priority... We just have the week-ends when the OM play away.

And Toulon already reserved it for september 18th vs Clermont , and in april for Toulouse (if Marseille is qualified for Champion's League 1/4 finals, we could'nt)
And it makes us sweat to go there... It often take us 3 hours to make these 40 miles and come home from Marseille...

I just realized that I'm home in Limerick, by chance alone, for the weekend of the 1st round. Can someone PM me the assumed fixtures. I would fecking flip the lid if I could get a Heineken Cup match in when I'm back. Jesus it'd be deadly.

However, if history is anything to go by, it'll be an away game 1st, which would suck. But I got to have faith. The group is such that any team will provide great competition.

Not sure it will have been decided yet, but I'm reasonably confident they'd press for Twickenham. It's actually less of a haul from their traditional base in Sunbury, and they're traditionally a South West London club. It's a more natural relocation for them than it is for Wasps of Sarries.

well they're wouldn't be any shortage of tickets. I was there
for there semi against Toulouse and it was a ticket kiosk on
the day,

For a group game they might go bottom/mid tier only, as Quins did a few years ago. Not sure what capacity that gives them in comparison to the Madjeski.

IIRC 33,000

Reading is 24,000 so it's strange to see a move tbh.

I'd have thought more. 82,000 capacity overall spread across three tiers.

Munster will open their 2010/2011 Heineken Cup campaign in London when they take on London Irish (Saturday October 9th, 6pm) at the Madejski Stadium.

Share
It will be the first time for Munster and London Irish to meet in the competition and although the Madejski was the stadium nominated for the tie when the fixtures were announced this afternoon, there is the possibility that London Irish will look at the possibility of using Twickenham for this most attractive fixture.
A week after that London trip, Munster welcome Toulon to Limerick and Thomond Park Stadium (3.45pm kick off) for what is sure to be a sell out game against the star studded French outfit who were surprisingly beaten in the Amlin Challenge Cup final by Cardiff in May.

In the past, the back-to-back December matches have proved central to club's progress and Munster play Magners League champions Ospreys twice in the space of six days, at home in Thomond Park Stadium on Sunday December 12th (1pm) followed by the trip to Swansea for the return the following Saturday (3.45).

All in all a very demanding programme with no easy matches, a fact recognised by Munster coach Tony McGahan, "First and foremost," he said, " we recognise the quality of the opposition we face in our Pool. There are no weak sides, each of them I believe, well capable of winning the competition, certainly all well capable of getting results on the road.

In terms of how the fixtures have fallen McGahan continued, " Home advantage is important but can also bring it's own pressures particularly in round one but London Irish will prove a massive challenge. They were just edged out of a place in the play offs last season and prior to that lost narrowly in the semi final.

"Toulon represent a little bit of an unknown quantity in the respect that we've never played them before. We've seen plenty of them and it's probably better to get them in Limerick first up.

"Back to back against the Ospreys, first game at home in Thomond Park ? They won there last time and will travel in confidence. In reality however, any one of the four sides in this group is capable of winning the competition."

Are ya mad? You might get there and then again might not!! Game will end maybe as late as 8pm. If you're driving from Reading, it's about 40mins to Heathrow. You travel the M4 and then drive into Heathrow; both are liable to regular delays. You have to go through the usual delays checking in, security, walking forever to the departure gate in Heathrow. Any delay or hiccup will cause you to miss your flights. It's way too risky, I think!!

Ah well you could walk from twickers to heathrow and easily be on time for the flight. Reading is different though. I know if everything goes your way, then you will make the flight. However knowing heathrow & the m4, I just wouldn't risk it.

dublin to brum is 20 euro return for the weekend just now and as brum airport is on the mainline to reading-about 90 mins direct- one ways from £11.50-cheaper than getting in from LHR or possibly even LGW? (but not if they move it to twic).

friday night flight is an idea as the ETAP hotel there is £35 a room (brecci is £3ish and not bad at all...and its next to the arrivals lounge at the airport-then train into reading next morning and Ibis reading was available last time I looked for £42 a room inc brecci. 10am train next day back to brum and late lunch flight back to átha clíath.

The Madstad is less than 5 minutes from the M4 motorway. Its about 30 minutes/25 miles to the Heathrow turn off from there, so if we get out of the stadium promptly you should make it OK, ceteris paribus.

Not sure it will have been decided yet, but I'm reasonably confident they'd press for Twickenham. It's actually less of a haul from their traditional base in Sunbury, and they're traditionally a South West London club. It's a more natural relocation for them than it is for Wasps of Sarries.
