Living for the City' to benefit Limerick Youth Service

A PROJECT aiming to promote Limerick and raise up to €250,000 for one of Limerick's best known institutions, the Limerick Youth Service, was launched this Monday in the city.
'Living for the City' is the brainchild of a bunch of young entrepreneurs who have joined forces to showcase its brightest and best talents.

"Limerick Youth Service is an invaluable part of the city's structure and they need as much backing as we can possibly offer," explained Niall Colgan, who is chairman of the project.

"We also want to restore pride in Limerick people, support our city and showcase everything that's good about it," he said.

A series of events over the next five months begin with a gig in Dolan's Warehouse this Saturday night, featuring the Limerick band The Hitchers, plus Giveamanakick and Walter Mitty and the Realists, followed by an appearance by Cork DJs Fish Go Deep in the Trinity Rooms nightclub in February.

An evening of fine food, chat and banter with RTE rugby pundits George Hook and Brent Pope will take place in March in the Strand Hotel, while a concert with the Irish Chamber Orchestra and special guests Bill Whelan and Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin will take place in the Concert Hall in April.

Munster and Ireland rugby star David Wallace has been appointed as the official ambassador for the 'Living for the City' project, full details of which are available at www.livingforthecity.eu
